Master Plan
Master plans for county parks are completed to guide development of the park facilities and to provide a vision for future expansion. Master plans are not detailed construction documents so additional plans and specifications must be created prior to implementing the master plan recommendations. All plans follow an intensive consensus building public participation process prior to being finalized. The Donald Park plan is in the draft phase. View the complete report or the text only version.
Park Attractions Donald Park encompasses more than 700 acres of parkland, containing oak & pine woods, restored prairie habitat, wetlands and intriguing rock outcroppings with scenic views.
Miles of trails, winding through the park, allow visitors to enjoy the rugged beauty while hiking, cross country ski, horse back riding and snow shoeing.
Donald Park is also know for its trout streams- Deer Creek, Frye Feeder and Mt Vernon Creek.
Visitors can bring a basket of goodies and enjoy the small picnic area called, Pop's Knoll, which was developed through a generous donation from the Woodburn family and the efforts of the Friends of Donald Park, Inc.
There are also more than 18 miles of equestrian trails winding through the park and extending onto private lands.
