Volunteer

Volunteering is a great way to develop new friendships, learn new skills, help the community and preserve the heritage of Donald Park. Young people can complete service projects for the park, earning themselves advancement toward prestigious awards such as Eagle Scout rank in the Boy Scouts or the Gold Award for Girl Scouts.

Volunteers can work on a variety of projects, including:

  • Monitoring and eradicating invasive species
  • mowing grass and weeds as needed
  • maintaining trails
  • working on waterway preservation projects
  • prepare areas for controlled burns
  • collect and spread seeds in prairie areas
  • work with area school students
  • Work toward re-establishing the native blue bird population
